Newsome Chorus Co-Directors

 Jeff Bogue

A Florida Native, Jeff Bogue graduated with a bachelors and masters degree in Choral Music Education from the College of Music at Florida State University.  He has been teaching chorus at Newsome High School for fourteen years where his choirs consistently receive superior ratings.  Mr. Bogue has also served as a director with Lumina Youth Choirs.  Actively involved in various performing groups around the Tampa area, he is also a member of FMEA and ACDA as well as FVA where he has served as the district 7 chairman.  Mr. Bogue also serves as a judge for choral and solo and ensemble performances.  Under his direction, choirs have performed at festivals throughout the United States and have consistently received top awards and honors. Mr. Bogue has also taken his choirs to perform in venues in Ireland and Great Britain.

Miranda Stewart

Miranda Stewart, originally from Dallas, Texas, moved to Florida to pursue a bachelors in Choral Music Education from the College of Music at The Florida State University.  After graduating, Miranda began teaching at Orange Grove Middle Magnet School of the Arts in Ybor.  For the next four years, her choirs received top performance ratings in Hillsborough County at festivals and assessments.  Miranda has been an active member of the Festival Singers of Florida which has toured Africa, China, and will be heading to Indonesia this fall.  FMEA, ACDA, and FVA are some of the professional music organizations that Miranda is a member of since the start of teaching in Florida. This past year, Miranda took her students to New York City where they were able to perform in multiple workshops and perform with Broadway actors from shows like Aladdin and Lion King.
