Greetings Chorus Families!!
The Newsome Chorus is thriving and October is a busy month. Here is some information. Thank you so much!!


“On the Radio” Concert
Who: Required concert for all students
Theme: Disney (Mulan, Frozen, Mary Poppins, Moana, etc. YAY!!!)
Start Time: Concert Begins at 6:30pm. Tickets are $5 at the door
Location: Newsome auditorium
Call Time: Students should be in the auditorium by 6pm
What to wear: See attachment for costumes for each class. It was our sincere hope when picking these “costumes” that you would not need to buy anything (or if so it would be very cheap and easy to find).

Trick or Treat Street
Who: The Newsome Chorus sponsors this awesome schoolwide event
What: A community outreach. Kids 5th grade and younger can have a safe and fun place to trick or treat (see flyer)
Where: Newsome HS campus
When: Sunday, October 27th from 5-7:30pm
Ways to help: Students can volunteer and receive community service hours (sign up sheet in class. Setup begins at 2pm). Donate candy (we need lots)!!

Yearbook Chorus Pictures
When: Monday, October 28th during class
What to wear: Jeans and the Chorus polo (or just any navy blue shirt even if it has writing on it)

Nashville Trip
We had a great level of interest in this trip and all students who have submitted a deposit will be able to attend. YAY!!
The next payment of $200 is due on October 30th.
Payment schedule:
Oct 30 – $200
Nov 22 – $200
Jan 15 – $200
Feb 10 – $200

All County
Who: Any student in chorus may try out. It is a big honor to be selected!
What: An opportunity to sing with the best singers throughout the county. The music is challenging and a professional conductor leads and teaches. A very cool experience.
When: Auditions are on November 4th at 4pm at Freedom High School. Rehearsal and performance dates can be found on the contract attached to this email.
How: Students must learn (not memorize) the pieces of music provided. Info on auditions is posted on edsby. Music packets are available in class. Practice tracks to learn the music can be found at this website: hcpsallcountychorus.com

Madrigal Dinner
Who: Members of chamber choir will perform. Other choir members from all classes can volunteer to act as servers.
What: A Renaissance themed dinner show with costumes, music, skits, and pageantry. An awesome night for all!!
When: December 5th and 6th
Where: Limona Village Chapel in Brandon
How to go: This is a fun show and really rings in the holiday season. Be sure to get your tickets by filling out the attached form.
Ways to Help: Students can volunteer to serve and clean up. Lots of adult volunteers are needed to make this event happen. Please reply to this email if you wish to help or be involved in some way. Lots of parents will volunteer to support this event, even if their student is not directly performing. We appreciate your help!!
